1. Conference Summary:

International College of Engineering and Management (ICEM) has organized the second virtual international undergraduate research conference on 03 and 12 October 2021. The conference was first advertised through the conference website to students and researchers in different countries. Alternatively, a poster was used to announce the conference to the students and staff in different institutions to submit a paper. Once all the keynote speakers were confirmed with the subject of interest to all participants and attendees, a poster was prepared by the Digital Marketing Department of ICEM to publicize using different available platforms. The advertisement was also made via email from the Dean Office to different institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

On a broader scale, it can be viewed that the conference has served as a platform for undergraduate students of primarily graduating classes to present their research findings from their final year projects. Students from engineering and management fields, predominantly from the department of Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (HSEM), Fire Safety Engineering, Fire Safety Management, Mechanical (Well) Engineering and Facilities Management have taken part in presenting their work in this conference. Our renowned keynote speakers from Malaysia, India, Oman, and Bangladesh have also shared their experience and presented on topics mainly outlined and targeted to address key research inputs to students and researchers from different countries. The first day of the conference was scheduled for the keynote address on 03 October 2021. In contrast, the second day, which was rescheduled due to Cyclone Shaheen hitting the coastline of Gulf of Oman on 03 and 04 October 2021, was utilized for the students’ presentation on 12 October 2021. Engineers and graduating students have presented their research works, which were insightful for the current final year students at ICEM to address the research gaps in their respective fields.
