ICEM was founded in 1995 as the Fire Safety Engineering College initially delivering specialist professional training in Civil Defence.  It very quickly developed further training in Aviation Fire Safety and University Education through its affiliated partner the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)  in the United Kingdom.  ICEM offers B.Eng (Hons) Degree Course in Well Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), BSc(Hons) Degree Courses in Fire Safety Engineering/Management, Facilities Management and Health, Safety and Environmental Management.

We invest from time to time on new and modern facilities. We have just made a  significant investment to redevelop our campus on our existing site. Our teaching facilities include interactive whiteboards in many classrooms, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) using Blackboard, on-line environment for all lecture materials, handouts, assignments and additional resources; an Independent Learning Centre and a separate Language Learning Centre.

We work in collaboration with our partner University and other national and global research organizations. We have researchers from different parts of the globe who are experts in fields such as environmental challenges, fire safety & engineering, facilities management and languages. The college provides opportunities to further students/ employees career through research programmes leading to PhD/Masters from UCLan.

We have students from more than 20 countries studying at ICEM, demonstrating the unique appeal of our courses across the GCC and beyond. We also attract teaching staff from many countries.

We strongly encourage our students to actively support their community through volunteering and community engagement projects.
