The Research and Ethics Committee at the International College of Engineering and Management is an oversight committee that facilitates and promotes research activities across the college. The committee members are selected annually from active researchers in different departments after a recommendation from the Assistant Dean to the Dean of the college, followed by his subsequent approval. The chair of the committee is elected through nomination and voting by the members, with their recommendation sent to the Dean of the college for approval.

The committee regularly meets during the academic year to discuss various issues that may arise, including:

Adopting new research policies or revising and updating existing ones.
Discussing potential research partnerships with universities and entities within the country and overseas through Memorandums of Understanding or other collaboration framework.
Discussing plans and actions aimed at achieving the college's strategic goals regarding research promotion and facilitation.
Exploring ways to improve relations and communication with private and public organizations, such as the Ministry of Higher Education and the Oman Research Council, as well as international entities for funding opportunities.
Overseeing the selection and management of internal grant processes across the college.
Disseminating research funding opportunities and assisting faculty with budgeting and proposal submissions for external funding's.

The chair of the committee acts as a liaison to the Oman Research Council to facilitate the implementation of council policies and the management of research grants. The committee directly reports to the Dean of the college and prepares a bi-annual research newsletter known as the "ICEM Research Bulletin," which is accessible on the ICEM website.
