Programme Entry Requirements :

Applicants must have successfully completed 12 years of secondary schooling and have followed the Pure/Applied Mathematics stream or equivalent. The minimum passing grade is D or higher in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English for the Omani General Diploma Certificate.

Applicants will complete a diagnostic Entry Test/ Placement Test in English Language, Mathematics, and Science to assess their ability to complete the HSEM programme.

The HSEM programme at ICEM includes structured provisions for students to further develop their English language skills. However, applicants must have an IELTS of at least 5.0, with a minimum of 4.5 in any of the individual sections (writing, speaking, listening and reading.)

Applicants will be exempt from the above requirements if they have successfully completed a foundation year at ICEM with an IELTS of 5.0 and a minimum of 4.5 in any of the individual sections and demonstrated an adequate level of proficiency in all areas required for admission into HSEM programme.

Accreditation for Prior Learning / Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning will be assessed according to UCLan standard procedures.

Programme Modules

The HSEM programme at ICEM grants students a number of exit routes at each stage of degree completion.

Industrial Placement :

At ICEM, we strive to join together the worlds of academia and industry, giving our students the opportunity to further apply and consolidate their knowledge through industrial placement options as they progress in the HSEM programme.

Students who have successfully completed Year 2 are eligible for an eight-week Industrial Experience Module equivalent to 20 notional credits during the summer break.

Students who have successfully completed Year 3 are eligible for a one-year Eidaad Industrial Placement Module equivalent to 120 notional credits.

Programme Overview:

The Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Programme at International College of Engineering and Management in affiliation with University of Central Lancashire – UK keen on providing global learning platform for providing students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience, skills and training with field placements and producing successful, market acceptable, Health Safety and Environment professionals.

The HSEM program Aims to develop Student-Centered Teaching with effective Core, Technical, and Ethical behavior of the profession, and maintains up-to-date knowledge directly relevant to the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), and the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).

HSEM graduates can be employed in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, health care, education, and oil & gas. The BSc in health, safety, and environmental management offered degree which is developed in line with the National Occupational Standard ( NOS ) in Oman, as well as based on the requirements for accreditation by Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) UK as Level 6 Certified Member (CertIOSH).

Graduates of our programme are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a variety of roles, including Health and Safety manager, HSE officer, HSE advisor, Health and Safety Auditor, environmental advisor and manager, risk assessor and environmental auditor .
