BSc (Hons) Facilities Management (FM)
Programme Entry Requirements :

Applicants must have successfully completed 12 years of secondary schooling and have followed the Pure/Applied Mathematics stream or equivalent. The minimum passing grade is D or higher in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English for the Omani General Diploma Certificate.
Applicants will complete a diagnostic Entry Test/ Placement Test in English Language, Mathematics, and Science to assess their ability to complete the Facilities Management programme.
The Facilities Management programme at ICEM includes structured provisions for students to further develop their English language skills. However, applicants must have an IELTS of at least 5.0, with a minimum of 4.5 in any of the individual sections (writing, speaking, listening and reading.)
Applicants will be exempt from the above requirements if they have successfully completed a foundation year at ICEM with an IELTS of 5.0 and a minimum of 4.5 in any of the individual sections and demonstrated an adequate level of proficiency in all areas required for admission into the Facilities Management programme.
Accreditation for Prior Learning / Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning will be assessed according to UCLan standard procedures.
Programme Modules
The Facilities Management programme at ICEM grants students a number of exit routes at each stage of degree completion.
Industrial Placement :

At ICEM, we understand the importance of hands-on experience, which is why our programme includes internship opportunities that provide students with real-world experience, helping them build a strong network of industry contacts and prepare them for successful careers.
Students who have successfully completed Year 2 are eligible for an eight-week Industrial Experience Module equivalent to 20 notional credits during the summer break.
Students who have successfully completed Year 3 are eligible for a one-year Eidaad Industrial Placement Module equivalent to 120 notional credits.

Programme Overview:
The programme is designed to emphasize Facilities Management in the context of Built Environment and its application to building. The programme equips students to acquire knowledge and skills to support the core activities of the business by ensuring smooth running of non-core services such as health & safety and fire safety through careful planning and management of the facilities. The programme aims to develop a range of management, legal and technical skills relevant to construction and facilities management practice. Teamwork and partnerships are key skills of facilities managers and this is reflected in the Programme. The programme focuses on providing students with industry-centered practical skills together with theoretical concepts. Practical sessions with hands-on experience in various activities within the College and the industry prepare students with both subject specific and transferrable skills to enhance their employability.
