Programme Goals

  • Provide a solid foundation in advanced manufacturing processes and digital fabrication technologies preparing students for careers in national and international manufacturing and service industries

​

  • Equip students with hands-on skills and analytical expertise to confront real-world engineering challenges, with a focus on emerging technologies, smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and sustainable manufacturing practice

Programme Entry Requirements :

​

  • A General Education Certificate (twelfth grade) or equivalent with a D grade or above in Advanced Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.

  • Candidates should pass the ICEM Placement Test / General Foundation Programme.

Programme Modules 

The Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Fabrication programme at ICEM grants students a number of exit routes at each stage of degree completion.

Industrial Placement :

​

ICEM provides its Well Engineering students with optional work placement opportunities should they wish to apply their knowledge to real-life scenarios and further consolidate their learning.

 

Students who have successfully completed Year 2 are eligible for an eight-week Industrial Experience Module equivalent to 20 notional credits during the summer break.

 

Students who have successfully completed Year 3 are eligible for a one-year Eidaad Industrial Placement Module equivalent to 120 notional credits.

Programme Overview:

The BEng (Hons) Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Fabrication Programme meets the growing demand for skilled professionals in industries such as aerospace, automotive, healthcare, electronics, and renewable energy. As Industry 4.0 and 5.0 rapidly evolve, there is an urgent need for experts who can integrate digital tools, innovative manufacturing methods, and sustainable practices into engineering solutions. This programme offers a comprehensive education aligned with the latest industry needs. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in advanced manufacturing, digital fabrication, and sustainability strategies. Students will study key modules such as Engineering Simulation, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Sustainable Manufacturing, Digital Fabrication Processes, AI and Machine Learning, IoT Applications, Engineering Design, Instrumentation and Control, and Metrology and Quality Engineering. By combining hands-on training with theoretical knowledge, graduates will be prepared to tackle modern manufacturing challenges and drive innovation and efficiency in industrial applications.
