ICEM Well Engineering department: “As part of the research sharing conducted by Research and Innovation Committee –ICEM, organized a technical seminar for academic staff titled “Ergonomics and Human factors Engineering –Design Perspective’’ on 5th March 2020, presented by Alex B. Viswanathan. The seminar covered the recent research done by staff and students of Well Engineering Department in Ergonomics stream.  Ergonomics and Human factor engineering is a scientific discipline concerned on Man-Machine interaction and focus on human comfort in design of work system and performance of operations. The presentation highlighted the case studies in work system design and posture analysis of industrial operations. The effect of vibration, long term use of hand tools and hazardous environment demands novel technologies and methods to address the overall efficiency of worker and work environment. Currently two final year students from department of Well Engineering working on effect of ergonomic intervention in oil rig operations”.
